Throughout different times in your life, you may experience symptoms of hormone imbalance. It can happen during childbearing years, in pre-menopause and menopause, during stressful times, and more.

If you’re experiencing hormone imbalance, may have symptoms including:

  • Fatigue
  • Increased sensitivity to cold or heat
  • Constipation or more frequent bowel movements
  • Dry skin
  • Puffy and rounded face
  • Unexplained weight loss (sometimes sudden) or gain
  • Increased or decreased heart rate
  • Muscle weakness
  • Frequent urination
  • Increased thirst and hunger
  • Muscle aches, tenderness, and stiffness
  • Pain, stiffness, or swelling in your joints
  • Thinning hair or fine, brittle hair
  • Depression
  • Decreased sex drive
  • Nervousness, anxiety, or irritability
  • Blurred vision
  • Sweating
  • Infertility
  • Purple or pink stretch marks

Of course, these can be attributed to other conditions as well. But, if you think you could use hormone support, consider Diindolylmethane (DIM).

How DIM Supports Hormone Imbalances and Improves Overall Health

Hormone Balance and Estrogen Metabolism

First of all, DIM improves estrogen imbalance.

DIM alters the metabolism of estrogen to help our bodies balance hormones.  Estrogen levels and function can change in both women and men as we age.

Some experience estrogen dominance (elevated estrogen relative to other hormones) and others may experience loss of testosterone and progesterone.

DIM helps by blocking an enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen. Which is a great first step towards hormone balance.

Bad Estrogens vs. Good Estrogens

Next, DIM converts “bad estrogens,” into good estrogen metabolites. Bad estrogens cause most pre-menstrual and menopause symptoms, including fat gain, cramping, acne, low energy, and more. They’re also found in higher levels in those with breast cancer.

Good estrogens promote leaner bodies with more muscle, high-quality collagen in connective tissues, healthy bone density, and good cholesterol levels.

DIM encourages estrogens to metabolize to beneficial forms, while deterring negative forms.

Anti-Cancer Properties

In research studies, DIM has induced the death of cancer cells, reduces cancer cell growth, and potentially reduced the overall risk of cancer. DIM is specifically thought to be important against breast, endometrial, and prostate cancer (1, 2).

Supports Fat Loss

In addition, loss of muscle and gaining fat is another unwanted side effect of aging for many people.

Luckily, DIM can help.

In lab tests, DIM has shown a reduction in fat cell generation and increase in fat cell breakdown and burn (3).

In addition, balanced hormones promote healthy weights and the ability to lose unwanted fat.

May Fight Human Papillomavirus Infection

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) causes multiple medical disorders, including cervical lesions, cervical cancer, and lung cancer.

Fortunately, DIM can help reduce the symptoms of HPV, the action of HPV and possibly reduce its growth (4).

DIM Has Strong Anti-Inflammatory Attributes

DIM helps activate an enzyme called activated protein kinase (AMPK).

Amazingly, AMPK is a strong anti-inflammatory enzyme and has implications in reduced cancer risk, overall bodily inflammation, and heart health (5, 6).

Improves Skin Health and Reduces Acne

With hormonal changes, many women experience changes in skin health and appearance. This can include acne.

Typically, excessive estrogen can lead to hormonal imbalances and increased acne. By changing the metabolism of estrogen and reducing the amount of testosterone that’s converted to estrogen, DIM can reduce imbalances.

DIM Supplements for Hormone Imbalance

There are many DIM supplements available and it’s important to get one that supports whole-body health and overall balanced hormones.

Full thyroid support hormones, such as Hormone Zone and Thyroid Zone, are a great choice.

DIM Supplement Warnings

Overall, DIM supplementation is safe, effective and non-toxic.

However, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have cancer, kidney disease, or other chronic diseases, it may be contraindicated for you. Always talk to your doctor before beginning a new supplement.

Bottom Line

DIM is an impressive compound supporting hormones and aiding the symptoms of hormone imbalance for women. If you’re suffering from any symptoms that indicate an imbalance, consider adding a natural, hormone-balancing supplement which includes DIM, such as Hormone Zone.

    Hello,
I’m a postmenopausal 60 years old and I’ve been on Bioidentical Hormone replacement for a few years now. I started taking the Hormone Zone and the Thyroid Zone recently and observe a Keto diet 85% of the times.
I would like to know if I should get off the Bioidentical hormones if I’m on the Hormone Zone.
Thanks for your response and have a blessed day!
