Prostate Protection From Beta-Sitosterol

Prostate problems are extremely common in the United States.

Statistics show that about 1 man in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate disease during their lifetime.

Prostate issues mainly develop in older men. About 6 in 10 diagnoses are in men aged 65 or older, and it is uncommon before age 40. The average age at the time of diagnosis is around 66.

Interestingly, this isn’t true for men all over the world.

Mediterranean Men Have Healthier Prostates

During an epidemiological study, it was noted that men living in the Mediterranean had considerably less incidence of prostate problems. The most symptom of prostate problems is an enlarged prostate. After a detailed examination of factors it was determined that this was not a result of mere genetics. Through analysis, the number one protective factor that emerged was diet.

Particularly, a diet high in beta-sitosterol.

Beta-Sitosterol

Beta-sitosterol is a plant sourced fat, or phytosterol, that is known to encourage healthy prostate aging. The potent prostate protective properties of beta-sitosterol are thought to come from inhibition of an enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT stimulates the division of prostate cells increasing their number and leading to an enlarged prostate.

The Symptoms

As men age, the cells in their prostate glands can begin to overgrow, which causes a swelling that can obstruct the bladder opening and put pressure on the urethra. This results slow urination and incomplete bladder emptying. Often the urine stream will be weak and uncomfortable with symptoms often worsening during the night with increased urinary frequency and urgency.

Even though statistics show that men experience urinary incontinence less than women, there are still about six million men in America who do experience urinary incontinence and this is often attributed to an enlarged prostate.

The Solution

There are many common foods that are delicious and easy to find that contain beta-sitosterol.

Beta-sitosterol is actually quite abundant in the plant kingdom. The compound is found most notably in foods such such as saw-palmetto berries, pumpkin seeds, nuts, avocados, and chocolate.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to achieve therapeutic dosages through diet alone. That is why Dr. Colbert has made it conveniently available in his Ultimate Prostate Formula which has been enhanced with a myriad of synergistic compounds, vitamins, and nutrients.
